Join a Team

The SBOT currently has 16 standing teams, in addition to the Board of Directors and Executive, whose responsibility is to research and respond to government legislation and to introduce changes, programs and policies that will assist and benefit the business community and SBOT staff. If you are a member in good standing with the Surrey Board of Trade, you are eligible to join. These teams contribute to the economic development of Surrey.

Natural resources, emergency planning, climate change & waste management. Team also organizes the annual Environment & Business Awards program.

Finance & Tax

Business taxation & public sector investments.

International Trade

Advocacy, services, international membership & trade missions. Team oversees the annual International Awards program.

Manufacturing

Skilled labour, manufacturing awareness & innovation.

Public and Business Safety

Advocacy, events & projects to improve business safety and judicial issues.

Social Policy

Education, child care, poverty & health care.

Tourism, Arts & Culture

Arts investments, tourism advocacy & creative industry growth.

Transportation

Air, border, rail, road & water – moving goods and people.

Women in Business

Entrepreneurial services, mentorship & essential skills. Team also organizes the annual Women in Business Awards program.

Workplace Development

Aboriginal & immigrant/refugee entrepreneurship, employment standards & labour market.

Youth Entrepreneurs

Grades 4-8 & grades 10-12, post-secondary & youth business incubator programming.


Event Teams

Golf Tournament

Organizes the Surrey Board of Trade’s annual golf tournament.

Police Officer of the Year Awards

Team members organizes the nominations and the event to celebrate the accomplishments of Surrey RCMP members, municipal employees, volunteers, and businesses that support Surrey’s RCMP.

Surrey Business Awards

Team members oversee the nominations, interviews, and event program of SBOT’s signature event.
