Surrey Board of Trade Focuses on Bridges and Tolls – Mobility Pricing Dialogue – April 8

Oregon Speaker to talk on Oregon’s Road Usage Charge Program

The Surrey Board of Trade will host a Leadership Surrey Dialogue focusing on Mobility Pricing as a funding mechanism for transportation and transit infrastructure. The question on how to fund transit and transportation infrastructure development and maintenance has yet to be resolved. Mobility pricing is the strategy that is currently in favour as a fair way of increasing revenue. Is it? What exactly would be included in a road tax and how would funds be distributed?

Guest Speaker:
Jim Whitty – Manager, Office of Innovative Partnerships and Alternative Funding at Oregon Department of Transportation on Oregon’s Road Usage Charge Program

Nancy Olewiler – Public Policy Professor, SFU, EcoFiscal Commissioner, former TransLink Board Chair
