MEDIA RELEASE: Surrey Environment & Business Award Finalists Announced for 2019 – Winner to be announced at Robert Kennedy Jr. Event in Surrey – September 17

The Surrey Board of Trade is bringing in a very unique and famous guest speaker to Surrey – a Kennedy – more specifically Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“Mr. Kennedy will speak on environmental policy and the clean technology industry sector – both important economic issues for Surrey in our Cascadia Innovation Corridor,” said Anita Huberman, CEO, Surrey Board of Trade.

The Surrey Board of Trade will also present 4 winners at the 9th Surrey Environment and Business Awards event. The awards are presented to Surrey Board of Trade members or Surrey-based businesses that have demonstrated exceptional dedication to environmental leadership and/or issues. The award recipients are guided by a sense of respect for the environment and demonstrate this initiative consistently.

A Circular Economy Award will also be presented to one of the finalists above. The winner will have demonstrated that they re-invent, re-think and re-define how they use materials. They will have kept resources in use for as long as possible, extracted the maximum value from them while in use, then recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of each service life.
