In partnership with Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, the Surrey Board of Trade will host a national Energy Week event. This event will discuss the roles Canadian energy products play in the global economy and meeting growing global energy needs. Energy Week, which will be highlighted by a series of events across the country, is an initiative organized in partnership with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s Resources of the Future project.
The event will focus on two major topics:
- The role our energy products can play in addressing energy poverty in many developing countries and how this may be critical to meeting many of the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.
- An exploration of how Canadian producers can meet this global demand while playing a leadership role in reducing global emissions and fostering inclusive growth in Canada. The conversation will focus on the technologies and practices that can help Canadian energy producers continue their decade-long success in lowering emissions per barrel, and the export strategies needed to support the sector.
