BC ELECTION NEWS: Surrey Board of Trade Launches: Surrey Matters! Voting Campaign

The Surrey Board of Trade believes that voting is a privilege. Voting connects citizens with their political process and lets their voices be heard. The simple act of marking a ballot tells our leaders what we think about decisions that affect our lives. By respectfully agreeing or disagreeing with our leaders we show that the political system can accept differing points of view and can resolve them.

That is why The Surrey Board of Trade, as Surrey’s city-building, non-partisan business organization, has launched the ‘Surrey Matters!’ Campaign. With 10 per cent of BC’s ridings in Surrey, and as the fastest growing and soon to be largest city in BC, Surrey matters in this BC election.

“It is everyone’s democratic responsibility to vote,” said Anita Huberman, CEO, Surrey Board of Trade. “The Surrey Board of Trade is committed to increasing the number of voters in Surrey because Surrey Matters! “

“The Surrey Board of Trade encourages all Surrey citizens to vote on October 24th. Those that are seeking office need to also be aware of their role – as future public servants, accountable to residents/taxpayers, and listen even when they may not agree with your perspective.”
