Yesterday, the Federal Government announced it will separate BC from the Western Economic Diversification organization it currently shares with Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. A new B.C.-focused agency will be launching with details in coming months.
“The Surrey Board of Trade applauds this move because the investments that are needed in Surrey and overall in British Columbia are unique,” said Anita Huberman, CEO of the Surrey Board of Trade. “Our opportunities for infrastructure and economic recovery projects will benefit all Canadians.”
The Surrey Board of Trade recently received funding from Western Economic Diversification to support businesses struggling during the pandemic.
