Surrey Music City Centre at the Surrey Board of Trade Applauds BC’s Investment into the Music Industry

Musicians and companies in BC’s music industry can apply for a new grant through Amplify BC. The entire grant is worth $22.5 million.

“The music industry is vital to the economic wellbeing of the province and Surrey,” said Anita Huberman, CEO of the Surrey Board of Trade. “Without a thriving arts and culture sector, we can’t make Surrey an opportunity City where young people, families, seniors and our workforce can live, learn, work and play. The Surrey Board of Trade is pleased with this recent announcement of three years of funding from Amplify BC to support the music industry.”

Administered by Creative BC, Amplify BC offers four programs:

  1. Live Music supports the operations, development and adaptation of venues, festivals and concert presenters in BC.
  2. Music Company Development supports the operations, development and adaption of music companies in BC.
  3. Music Industry Initiatives support the development of BC’s music industry, funding projects that support training, skills development, export activities, business development, research and up-and-coming talent.
  4. Career Development supports the careers of emerging and established artists in BC, funding sound recordings, music videos and marketing initiatives.
