FEDERAL ELECTION NEWS: 2021 Federal Election Matters to Surrey’s Economy Says Surrey Board of Trade

Surrey Federal Election Candidates Business Dialogue scheduled for September 8 from 5:30-8:30pm co-hosted by the Surrey Board of Trade and the South Asian Business Association

SURREY, BC – Surrey is going to be the largest city in British Columbia by 2030. The Federal Election, with voting set to take place on September 20th, matters to Surrey because of our diversified industry base, human capital and international access points by land, water and air.

“COVID debt, business and job creation, labour issues, climate change costs, the need to invest in infrastructure, while expediting project approval requires serious, bold strategies to grow our economy,” said Anita Huberman, CEO of the Surrey Board of Trade.

“To succeed in the face of fierce competition, Surrey must generate sustained business investment, jobs and growth here — not just in the short term, but for years to come. Today, we’re challenging all of our local main party candidates to attend our candidates dialogue on September 8 to speak about how they will be accountable to Surrey, not just if they get elected but for the duration of their term in office,” added Anita Huberman.
