On May 25, the Surrey Board of Trade hosted the 14th Surrey International Trade Awards Reception, with Kevin Falcon, BC Official Opposition Leader, as the keynote speaker. The event is significant as it is the first in-person International Trade Awards event after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic and, at the same time, the first public address of Kevin Falcon after being installed as the Leader of the Official Opposition in BC.

This year’s award was presented to Vitanergy, a Surrey-based and woman-led business founded in 2018. The company provides safe, effective, and sustainable Canadian-made natural health products to local and international consumers in Canada, China and Malaysia. While they have established a strong presence internationally, with 95% of their products sold in China and 5% in Malaysia, Vitanergy is now looking to expand their global reach to other countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Vitanergy remains committed to bringing premium Canadian health supplements to the global market.

“The Surrey International Trade Centre congratulates Vitanergy on their success to date,” said Anita Huberman, Surrey Board of Trade President & CEO. “Surrey businesses are a part of the global economy.”

Each year, the Surrey International Trade Award Reception recognizes the success of import and export achievement, raising awareness of the vital contribution international trade makes to BC’s economy. The Surrey Board of Trade International Trade Team accepted applications and evaluated them on the following criteria:

Innovation in their marketing strategy
Trade growth
Sustainable competitive advantage

Award Sponsor: The BM Group of Companies
