PowerPlay Youth Business Leader Exchange Takes Place in Surrey

Co-hosted by PowerPlay Young Entrepreneurs and the Surrey Board of Trade

PowerPlay Young Entrepreneurs and the Surrey Board of Trade continue their innovation and leadership for Grades 4-7 students in Surrey to connect them with a diverse industry base of business leaders to learn and implement entrepreneurial projects.

“At PowerPlay Young Entrepreneurs, we are committed to creating rigorous learning experiences that help young people develop an entrepreneurial mindset,” said the charity’s Co-Founder Bill Roche. “Our school-based programs help youth develop competencies such as creativity, problem solving and communications. They learn to step out of their comfort zones, experiment with new ways of thinking and treat mistakes as learning opportunities.”

“Structured entrepreneurial programs for young students in Grade 4-7 will ensure a needed commitment to create businesses and jobs into the future,” said Anita Huberman, President & CEO, Surrey Board of Trade. “Making entrepreneurship work is not the responsibility of one sector alone; it requires dedicated actions from all sectors of the community. Young people need to be encouraged and supported to take advantage of the opportunities of entrepreneurship.”
