2023 Top 25 under 25 Winners Announced by Surrey Board of Trade
The Surrey Board of Trade has announced the winners of the 13th Annual Surrey’s Top 25 Under 25 Awards, an event that celebrates the incredible initiatives of Surrey’s youth 25 years old or younger. The 25 winners were chosen based upon their business or community achievements, leadership ability, community involvement, professional achievements, and the uniqueness of their business or community projects.
“The Surrey Board of Trade Youth Team is focused on ensuring productive career and entrepreneurial pathways for our youth through our diversified service portfolio,” said Anita Huberman, President & CEO, Surrey Board of Trade. “This event showcases the projects, initiatives and businesses that Surrey’s youth engages in resulting in positive role models for all youth.”
GUEST SPEAKER FOR 2023:
The Surrey Board of Trade is excited to announce George Stroumboulopoulos as the guest speaker for the awards event to take place on May 3rd. George is a multi-talented storyteller and media personality with over 30 years of working in television and radio. He reaches a global audience through his weekly Apple Music radio show, STROMBO, which is heard in 160+ countries and has over 70 million subscribers. He also curates an online book club, Strombo’s Lit, for Apple Books. George has honed his skills as host and executive producer of popular shows on CBC, including George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight and The Hour and the New Music on MuchMusic. He is one of the longest serving Goodwill Ambassadors of the UN’s World Food Programme travelling with them to visit their work in Pakistan, Haiti and Syria and to shine light on the issues there. He also helped raise over $1 million dollars for the WFP’s work in Yemen. In Canada, he established the George Stroumboulopoulos Music Therapy Scholarship, which provides funding for music therapy education. He also works closely with Innocence Canada, the Canadian Drug Policy Coalition, the Michael J. Fox Foundation, and serves on the board of Artists for Peace and Justice Canada. He recently became an investor in CENTR Brands Corp. – one of North America’s leading functional wellness beverage companies.
