The Surrey Board of Trade gave a $2,500 donation to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS) as part of their ongoing commitment to reconciliation and supporting Indigenous communities.
This contribution follows an impactful keynote event featuring BC’s Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation Murray Rankin on December 1 to discuss how economic leadership and reconciliation intersect. The event focused on fostering dialogue, understanding, and collaboration between Indigenous communities and the business sector.
“The Surrey Board of Trade recognizes the importance of acknowledging historical injustices and actively participating in the healing process,” said Anita Huberman, President and CEO, Surrey Board of Trade. “Our donation to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society is a tangible step towards supporting survivors and contributing to the reconciliation efforts.”
The Surrey Board of Trade is dedicated to building meaningful economic partnerships with Indigenous communities, fostering growth and promoting social responsibility. This donation to the IRSSS is a pathway towards many commitments the Surrey Board of Trade has made to create a more inclusive and equitable future.
