International Business Services
Name Approval Requests
Before registering a business in BC, you must file an official request to use the name. The Government of BC determines if your name is available for use and meets their requirements for business names. The Surrey Board of Trade can submit this form electronically directly to the government on your behalf.
Fees
- $75 including GST per search, in person
- An additional $100 for a priority search, which provides results within 24-48 hours
Business Registration
The Surrey Board of Trade can register your sole proprietorship or general partnership business on your behalf. Registration is completed within 24 hours (Monday – Friday).

- $115 + applicable GST
Duplicate Registration Documents
Certificate of Incorporation
$55 + GST per certificate of incorporation
Statement of Registration
$55 + GST per statement of registration
Company Search
When taking a business to small claims court, it is required that you complete a Company Search to obtain the correct details that the corporation has filed with the registrar. The Surrey Board of Trade can assist you with this. Please ensure you have the company name and/or corporation number.
Fees
$55 + GST for each company search, in person or by email.
Certificate of Good Standing
The Surrey Board of Trade can provide your BC Corporation with a statement if your business is currently in Good Standing with the Province of BC.
Fees
$65 + GST each letter
