Join a Team
The SBOT currently has 13 standing teams, in addition to the Board of Directors and Executive, whose responsibility is to research and respond to government legislation and to introduce changes, programs and policies that will assist and benefit the business community and SBOT staff. As a member in good standing with the Surrey Board of Trade, you are eligible to join these teams which contribute to the economic development of Surrey.

Red tape reduction, development approvals, official community plan, and business attraction strategies.
Environment & Natural Resources
Natural resources, emergency planning, climate change, waste management, and the Environment Awards.
Finance & Tax
Government budgets, business taxation & public sector investment.
Health & Technology
Advocate on issues on health in the workplace, drive investment into health in the workplace through the creation of new technology businesses and promote healthy living from an economic lens.
Industry & International Trade
Advocacy, industry & manufacturing advocacy, agricultural initiatives, international services, trade missions, Innovation Awards, International Awards, Agriculture Reception and Manufacturing Reception.
Social Policy & Workforce Development
Livability, housing, child care, poverty, health care, and public safety. Skilled labour, education, Indigenous and immigrant/refugee entrepreneurship, employment standards, and labour market.
Tourism, Arts & Culture
Arts and culture investments, tourism advocacy, creative industry growth, Surrey Music City Centre, and Mayor’s Art Awards.
Transportation
Air, border, rail, road & water – moving goods and people.
Women in Business
Entrepreneur services, and the Surrey Women in Business Awards.
Youth Entrepreneurs
Grades 4-6, high school, post-secondary, youth business incubator programming and Surrey’s Top 25 Under 25 Awards.
