OUR VISION

The goal of the Surrey Music City Centre is to help create a vibrant and diverse music industry in the City of Surrey which facilitates successful opportunities for artists, businesses and the community.

WHAT IS A MUSIC CITY?

A music city has these essential elements:

  • Artists and Musicians
  • A thriving music scene
  • Access to spaces and places for artists to perform and audiences to be entertained
  • A receptive and engaged audience
  • Record labels and other music-related businesses

Cities around the world are increasingly recognizing the potential of music as a driver of employment and economic growth. Hence our MISSION is to

  1. Use quality music to generate jobs, taxes and growth.
  2. Put music at the heart of Surrey’s economic development agenda.
  3. Be a leader in the development of Surrey’s “Music City.”

MUSIC CITY SURREY SHOWCASE – PART 2

Welcome to the Music City Surrey Showcase, where we continue to highlight the incredible musical talent that lives, works, and plays in the City of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada! This series is made possible with the generous help of the City of Surrey, Creative BC, and the Province of British Columbia. Enjoy learning about the fabulous artists that we interviewed right here in the FUSIONpresents studio. After the interviews, each artist also performed one of their awesome original songs. Thanks so much for watching, and please like and subscribe to stay in the loop of all the incredible talent in the greater FUSIONpresents Talent Community.

For three years now, the Music City Surrey Showcase has been a tremendous success, showcasing 30 amazing artists, educators and music professionals in Surrey. Each artist was featured in one of 30 episodes that included interviews and performances 🎶

We’re so excited and delighted to be funded again for this excellent initiative for the Music City Surrey Showcase Part 4, so please stay tuned for the great Surrey music artistry that we will be showcasing over the following months.

And once again this year, on February 10, we put on an in-person showcase  at the Surrey Arts Centre that showcased 12 of the great local Surrey artists that we featured through the 3 years of the Music City Surrey Showcase!  Read local Entertainment reporter Tom Zillich’s article in the Surrey Now Leader about the wonderful event! And mark your calendars – the Surrey Civic Theatres have added the 3rd Annual Music City Showcase to their programming at the Surrey Arts Centre to be held on February 8th 2025!
